2013 Judging panel chair David Riley, Managing Director, Egmont Publishing Group, said “Over the past three years, License This! has brought many strong new properties to the attention of a wide audience of potential licensees. The 2013 Winner was Mr Trafalgar, a whimsical rodent drawn in distinctive black and white silhouette
Mr Trafalgar is the creation of Newcastle artist and illustrator, Jamie Patterson. Mr Trafalgar himself is a dapper and mysterious rat, executed in flowing lines and first drawn riding a Penny Farthing. The character is one of many humanized animal characters that inhabit a rich, imagined world. All the work is hand-drawn in silhouette pen and ink with fluid ornate lines that create a vintage Edwardian feel, inspired by Art Nouveau and illustrators such as Aubrey Beardsley and Jan Pienkowski.
Mr Trafalgar’s Bella Binus, said: “Winning License This! has given us an enormous confidence boost to develop the property further. We are delighted to receive so much recognition and support from the panel, audience and organisers. We are excited at all the challenges the next 12 months might bring and look forward to coming back with Mr. Trafalgar to BLE 2014.”
Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your property to over 7,200 retailers, licensees and sales promotion professionals from across Europe.
